Bhitarkonika National Park is the heart of the 672 square kilometre long and wide Bhitarkanika Wildlife Sanctuary. The expanded creeks and mudflats make this landscape an ideal abode for numerous birds and reptiles. Not only that but also, according to the latest Census, it is the largest crocodile sanctuary in India. 

The National park is situated in Kendrapara District of Orissa and known to all for offering breathtaking sea beaches, trails through the forests and thrilling boat safari. Whether you are a nature lover or not, the enthralling surrounding will surely draw your attention to it. 

Biodiversity in Bhitarkonika National Park- The National Park is recognised for the great biological diversity and a wide array of flora and fauna. Casuarinas, Sundari, Bamboo, Teak, Indigo bush, Salaia, Zizphus, Palas are some of the examples of flora. Apart from that, Rhesus Monekeys, Indian Wild Boars, Hyena, Mud Skippers, Leopard Cat, Indian Python are the names of Fauna that make this National Park one of the best tourist spots in Orissa. Also, eight different species of Kingfishers and saltwater crocodiles are the inhabitants of this national park.

Best time to Visit – Tourists can visit this national park in the summer, monsoon, and the winter season. However, Winter season ( From October to March) is the best time to explore the amazing beauty of this landscape.
