Jaldapara National Park, one of the most famous tourist spots in North Bengal, was formerly known as a wildlife sanctuary. Later, in 2012, it was declared as a National Park. It’s a wonderful combination of extended grassland, riverine forests, streams, swampy land, and exemplary biodiversity. Total 216.51 sq km is a pleasant home to many wildlife creatures.

Biodiversity in Jaldapara National Park – The forest is recognized widely as the second largest population of Asiatic One-horned Rhinoceros. It’s a shelter for over 160 Rhinos, ‘n’ number of Bison, Deer (Chital, Samba), Giant Squirrel, Bengal Tigers, Leopards, Rock Python, Porcupine, numerous species of rare birds, different types of reptiles, amphibians, and vegetation. Over 240 species of birds include Woodpeckers, Parakeets, Cuckoos, Brahminy Ducks, Babblers, Whistling Teals, Peafowl, Larks, Hill Mynas, Rollers, Hoopoe, Forest Eagle, White Rumped Vulture and many more.
